Ok, I've been influenced. I have no other excuses. After seeing Jane from Chilly Hollow describe Anne Jerlow's work -- and watching the geisha stitching for the last few months -- I had to take the leap. I sincerely hope my zeal for this particular canvas didn't create problems for fellow eBay/Chilly Hollow enthusiasts (i.e., bidders). But I was quite determined to capture this canvas. Especially since it didn't cost $700 like the ones Jane pointed out recently!!
Even though I'm at least 3 or 4 projects away from starting on these guys, the space only creates a lot of thinking time about how to tackle it. I'm already wondering about the background color. My first thought was black for contrast, but the boots are black, so that won't work exactly. HHHHMMMMMMM....
I'm still working away on the shoes, and staying focused, but not having much of a brain tug.
I got the Petei Santa from The French Knot -- I"ll post that later. It's the Candlelight Santa. Looks perfect to take with me on our trip. I'll spare you the long story, but my husband just left the corporate world at year end for a teaching gig at a local university -- I haven't cared so much about spring break since I was about 19. At least we're going to Santa Fe, not Daytona Beach, and I have a great Petei Santa to take along -- with instructions, and all.
