Of course, I didn't need another canvas. I do remember seeing this one a couple of years ago at Needle Nook of La Jolla and thought it was beautiful. I didn't buy it then.
One of the things that I was reminded when we went to Rittenhouse Needlepoint in Philly was how beautiful basketweave can be. There were several pillows on display that were absolutely beautiful - all in basketweave or tent.
When I saw this piece on eBay, it spoke to me and said something like this, "Buy me and do me in almost all basketweave. I'll look lovely in your kitchen/family room."
So I did it. I'll send the canvas up to Colleen and have her pull threads for me - I'm thinking Vineyard Silks or maybe that new Planet Earth stuff that isn't supposed to pill. It's a 13 count canvas, so I think that would work beautifully. Of course, it will be a few YEARS before I get to it. Who knows what threads will be on the market then? Who knows if it will look beautiful in my kitchen/family room by then?
