It had to have been the mid 1980's when I saw these canvases in Country Living. Someone replicated old fruit crate labels on needlepoint canvases.
I stitched this one and it has been in my kitchen(s) since then, and I decided after we re-painted our kitchen cabinets that it was time for this old boy to go.
Crazy that it lasted all these years - I don't keep husbands that long!!

A blogging friend, Susan, contacted me yesterday and is in search of a discontinued Kaffe Fassett canvas depicting an aubergine. It's part of a series, and she's done 2 of them already - the beet and the artichoke.
Please contact me if you have the aubergine canvas and are willing to part with it, or know someone who does.

Mark and I took a long weekend trip this past weekend to visit Mark's daughter. It was pouring down rain almost the whole time, so most of our events revolved around food. Great for the taste buds, but bad for the waistline.
I took this picture from our little balcony.
Then I went into the needlepoint shop and bought this little ornament. They did a series of 12 ornaments about their little island a couple of years ago. This ornament is from that series. This year, they're doing a series of 9 canvases that feature buildings on the island. The one that caught my eye was the Tiki Bar - I didn't buy it. It's Hilton Head, of course. Mark grew up in Savannah and lived on Hilton Head for a while (in a prior life), so it has some sentimental attraction for him. I thought he'd enjoy the ornament.
