Stitching the drape
After I spotted the modified Beaty stitch on Summer Louise's website, I was anxious to try it on the drape. I like it. It's easy to shade/compensate with this stitch and I think it's perfect for this element of the design.
I'm still wondering about what to do with the jacket. We're going to be on Hilton Head for a couple of days, and I know there is at least one shop there, so I'm hoping to check out the Petite Very Velvet colors. I've given in to the concept that I might have to walk away from the olive color if I want to do the jacket in velvet. We'll see what happens.
Lots of errands today. Leaving town always creates work.
Happy stitching.

Hi Jane,
(Collen will love this comment!)
You might want to check out Orvis' fly tying chenilles for your jacket. there is an olive and dark olive in their ultra chenille, and an olive and light olive in their regular chenille. Both come in small and medium, but I have no idea about how their sizes would relate to an 18 ct canvas. there are sample colors on their website:
http://www.orvis.com/store/productchoice.aspx?pf_id=1588&dir_id=1273&group_id=1293&cat_id=5080&subcat_id=6171
5 yds per card; It may have some shine to it....but for $2.25 per card, it might be worth a try. It says IT IS colorfast.
My son used to tie his own flies, and his supplies are still in his room. If you would like, I can check to see if he has any chenille, in order to get an idea on the size (It's old). We return home today.
have a wonderful trip!

just type in "olive chenille" in the orvis search box. (the link I gave doesn't show the colors)
